Re: Everyone was going to give Coeburn the district

If you mean the CD, I think they're got to be one of the 2-3 favorites next year. That Bright kid is a monster. Very impressive football player. One of the best I've seen this year.

Their Offense started off like crazy. I thought they would have a better year than they have. Is this year a growing up year and next year will be a coming out party?

The CD just got to be a bigger race as soon as this season ends.
Coeburn has the talent, they just have not been able to compete in the LPD, numbers have killed them.
They lose a player to an injury they are hurt.
They should be a ligit favorite in the CD year in and year out.

Their offense has been productive all year. I think Bright had over 200 yds against Appy. They just turn the ball over in the red zone. They'll lose quite a few players off the offensive line, but they've got some good skill people to build on. They need to get the numbers back up as well. If they can start getting some wins in the CD, they could become a force again.

Re: Everyone was going to give Coeburn the distric

Lots of seniors graduating ... the team will probably be down for a few years since there'll be several players gone.

Next year, Shane Bright will probably be one of the few key players the Knights will have.

Re: how good will Coeburn be in the new District?

I don't see Coeburn making much noise in football when they move to the Cumberland District. Rye Cove, Castlewood, and St. Paul should return enough players to finish ahead of the Blue Knights next year. Coeburn should do well in baseball though. Castlewood will be their only competition in district. Their chances of winning a basketball championship will be slim and none.
The test is simple, if "your" team wins a national championship, do you get a championship ring? If the answer is yes, then you can say "we." If not, you can't.

Yeah, Nixon is good .. (Damien) Mooney is a pretty good one too.

Bad thing is, they'll be losing both of them next year.
